Human Powered Delray (HPD) is a non-profit 501(c)3 citizen advocacy and education group made up of Delray Beach residents who want to make it safer, easier, and more fun to walk and bike in this All-America City.
We work with local and regional officials to promote and implement a world-class bike-ped transportation network in Delray Beach.
And we do have some fun, while we get things done. Join us!
HPD has developed a Master Plan for bike-ped infrastructure in Delray Beach. The Plan consists of a North/South and East/West grid encompassing alleys, greenways, a bike-ped loop in the CBD, connection to Tri-Rail, and easy access to our beautiful beaches.
The city has adopted HPD’s Master Plan and we have begun pursuing public and private grants to fund components of this plan. In addition, we are identifying areas in the city budget that could be used to fund initial implementation activities.
We can make a difference. Independent advocacy groups can instigate important needed community changes. Delray must constantly improve safety and aesthetics of our town; we promote ourselves as a pedestrian friendly destination.
I am strongly committed to bicycle and pedestrian safety. As this community continues to grow we need a voice to represent the concerns of the people who live and work here.
As a planner and designer I see the potential for Delray Beach to be a truly walkable and bike friendly community. I joined HPD to help make that a reality.
Delray Beach is a fantastic location to live and vacation. I believe that the city can be even more pleasant with improvements geared to making the city more pedestrian friendly.
It’s a huge opportunity to make a difference in the quality of life and the character of Delray.
